temaki (hand rolls)


so i will be rocking temaki this week i think...its so tasty...and really quick to make.
temaki is just the japanese word for hand roll. you can put virtually anything in it.
my personal favs are avocado,cucumber,tomato,mushrooms and sprouts or just some salad greens ie mesculin mix and wrap it up in a sheet of untoasted nori. the best thing about the wrap is the sauce that i make with it...which is nama shoyu(or soy whatever is on hand),rice  vinegar(or ACV),agave nectar,fresh grated ginger and chili garlic sauce(not raw but sriracha)you can also use chili pepper flakes for some heat instead.oh and just a drop of toasted sesame oil.

i want to experiment with a miso sauce to go into the wraps as well...like a macadamia/miso paste to bind the temaki together....avocado usually does the job well as long as it is really a perfect avocado.god i love these things.
